SHARING OUR CCS FRIDAY JAN.23RD RETREAT
As a school staff we had the wonderful opportunity to give our time to "The Door is Open" a drop in centre located in East Vancouver. My heart was truly touched and awakened to the voice of
Jesus in all of us as I journeyed through this retreat. To feel
Jesus’ deep presence in a way I had never experienced before and His
ability to exist in amongst an environment filled with hardship and poverty truly
inspired me. I was also incredibly moved
by the people and neighbourhood that embraces their culture and soon came to
realize are really no different than ourselves; they feel joy, love, sadness,
pain, a need for respect and
appreciation. I had the opportunity to
share in conversation with many of the guests and I realized my conversations
were no different than the ones I have with people at the ice rink or waiting
in line at the grocery store. If ever
you are given the opportunity to share your time at the “The Door Is Open” or
any soup kitchen, give yourself this great gift of learning about Jesus’ true
love of us.
